Dog Rescue Around Washington

...where all breeds are treated as equals.

Who We Are

Dog Rescue Around Washington was founded in 2004 by a group of women who had each been involved in rescue for many years. They put their combined experience and passion into creating something they all believed in.

Over the years since it's inception, DRAW has grown and evolved and successfully placed well over a thousand dogs!

We all started with a sincere devotion specifically to Pit Bulls in need and although that strong connection is there, and we will always do what we can to help our heart breed, we have expanded our purpose. We have always accepted ANY breed into our program but our hearts will always be with the ones who suffer the most.

While you may often find some cute, young, fluffy dogs available with us, there will also always be some Pit Bulls

What can YOU do?

DRAW is always looking for volunteers. We need people to help assess dogs, fundraise, and foster. We ALWAYS need people willing to run errands for us - driving dogs to the vet, picking up donated supplies, etc.  We are also open to people who might consider occasionally doing a temp foster to give our regular foster homes a break. Even for a day or two! Donations of supplies are much appreciated. We will take EVERYTHING you have to spare, trust me - collars, leashes, harnesses, shampoo, flea treatment,  food bowls, dog beds and blankets, food, treats, toys, cleaning supplies - if you need it, WE need it!

If you STILL don't know what you can do, please, consider adopting a needy shelter dog. Volunteer your time. Have ALL companion animals spayed and neutered. Do NOT support pet stores that sell puppies or kittens (most of those pets come from puppymills) Find a local rescue and ask them what they could use in terms of supplies. Many of the things they need you may have sitting in a good will bag or in your back yard. Or maybe just send them a gift card to a local pet store.
